We were getting ready to load up the hot mini van to head to the big city for some errands. Eli and Cade came rushing inside saying they smelled smoke and saw some coming from our neighbor's window. We called 911 and watched our neighborhood morph into the parking lot for all things big, red, and shiny.
It took just a few seconds for the windows to blow and the fire to scream out the sides. This was my second house fire to call in and watch...it is the most devastating and helpless feeling to watch the flames' destruction before the squad can arrive.
Praise God, the neighbors weren't home, the firefighters were able to rescue their dog, and the fire was contained to one bedroom. I think we have the best firefighting unit ever....so thankful for them!

Good thing you guys hadn't left yet and the boys smelled the smoke.
