Testament Focused...cont.

"Gate"
Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
I may be the absolute only person in the world that sees the image in this rock...you can commit me to the institution later! But, this is the verse that popped into my head...and it really has nothing to do with the fact that the photo is of a rock...except that Jesus is our rock and sure foundation...even in troubled times. Psalm 91 is about hope in catastrophic times...do you see the wide-eyed person covered with the wings?
"Covered"
Psalm 91:4 "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."

"Lampstand"
Exodus 25:31 "Make a lampstand of pure gold and hammer it out, base and shaft; its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms shall be of one piece with it."

"Altar of Remembrance"
Genesis 35:14 "Jacob set up a stone pillar at the place where God had talked with him, and he poured out a drink offering on it; he also poured oil on it."

"Wall"
Habakkuk 2:11 "The stones of the wall will cry out, and the beams of the woodwork will echo it."

"Message"
1 John 1:5 "This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all."
(I liked the 3 bursts of light that represent the trinity.)

"Word"
Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path."

"Builder"
Hebrews 3:4 "For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything."

"Widow's Oil"
2 Kings 4:1-7 "The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, 'Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the LORD. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves. Elisha replied to her, 'How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?' 'Your servant has nothing here at all,' she said, 'except a little oil.' Elisha said, 'Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don't ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.' She left him and afterward shut out the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, 'Bring me another one.' But he replied, 'There is not a jar left.' Then the oil stopped flowing. She went and told the man of God, and he said, 'God, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.'

"Ruin"
Haggai 1:9 "You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?" declares the LORD Almighty. "Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with his own house."

"Taste"
Psalm 34:8 "Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him."

"Rejoice"
Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

"Increasing Measure"
2 Peter 1:5-8 "For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness, and to goodness, knowledge, and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess theses qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."
