The Waiting

Lately, my mind has been a tumultuous roller coaster ride.  Have I ever told you I hate roller coasters?  All week long I have either wanted to cry or cried or prayed for strength not to cry.  For a myriad of reasons, life has felt uncertain and unstable.  Have I ever told you I like security as much as homemade chocolate pie?

Sometimes you just need a breakthrough so you can step off of the roller coaster and get your bearings again.  Sometimes you need off the ride just so you can know which way is up and so reality can settle back in.

Maybe just then the world would stop spinning.

My heart is surrendered and I figure God is going to do what God is going to do, but that still leaves me in the waiting period.  My heart's prayer has been, Lord, please say, 'this is the way, walk in it!'

I devoured Psalm 25 yesterday and came to find out out the Hebrew for the word "truth" in verse 5.
  "Lead me in thy truth and teach me:
for thou art the God of my salvation;
 on thee do I wait all the day."

Truth here is "emeth" and can mean not just truthfulness, but stability, certainty, and establishment.  Ahhhh, just what this starving soul ordered.

Maybe you are waiting for a breakthrough of your own.  Let me encourage you and tell you this:  to wait on the Lord comes from the Hebrew word "qavah" and means to bind together...to be joined...to expect.  While we are waiting on the Lord, it can be the sweetest times of intimacy with Him.  The Hebrew expresses that while waiting, we are bound together with Jesus, almost as if two cords of rope were twisted inseparably until they become one strong piece.

If waiting binds me tighter to Him, then wait I shall...

i can't believe your pic of the moon!!!

man, i thought my attempt at the big ol' moon last week MIGHT be a lame one, and man oh day, yours just confirmed it.

i tried so hard to capture the beauty of it, it makes me happy to see it through your lens.
